Update # 16

Hello everyone

Today I have sent my Sally character by email to all the great peoples who pre-ordered my video set.

If you did not get your email, please just let me know, and I will send it right away.

I have just finished touching up the final scene, it looks quite good I must say!

I will start reverse engineer the whole process to video starting tomorrow.

I will keep You posted as I go, as I will also put up some videos as I go along.

  1. thx for the character Gilles, she looks great. One question though, how come she's not set-up for papagayo lip syncing? Easy enough to change the two layer needed to use it but I was curious.

  2. Hello Jonbo!

To be honest, I do not use Papayago, so it never came to me to set her for it, but it should be easy enough to modify the file for it.

I also did not set this version with the FKIK script, to keep it simple.

  3. Thank you. I'm sorry you had to redo everything when you were so close to release! I hope this set back has not been too stressful.

  5. Thanks Gilles
Great work, this sally Character. I do not have the time to study it too much at the moment but will get into it soon. I noticed how you placed the bones. It is a bit different then the conventional way of placing bones, and the result is very good, smooth movements. I am quite impressed lately with the powerful way these bones affect body parts. It seems many different people have different ideas on how to place the bones. So much to learn. Thanks.

    1. You are quite welcome Dust!

Yes, I do use bones differently then others, especially at the hip, chest and shoulders, as I find it gives smoother and more life like gestures.

An IKFK solution is also possible, as shown in my IKFK tutorial, which would give some freedom at the hip!

If You have any questions regarding the setup, don't be shy!

  6. I'm starting to play with this, and eagerly await the video. In the meanwhile, it looks like you have Shoe R on Leg L FWIW.

  7. Gilles,
I am very glad that I found your Web site. Last year I paid you through PayPal to join your tutorials in advance of you creating them. I took a break from animation, but now I am back and I thought: "What ever happened to Gilles and his tutorials?" I found my old receipt - 1772-8717-6097-6777. I never received the emails that you sent to other members, so I was hoping you could send them to me now. My email is chris.renson@verizon.net. I am enjoying your excellent tutorials, but would like to get copies of the characters that you sent out.
    Thanks
    Chris
